Welcome to GuidingLight™, a service of The Beacon nonprofit organization. By using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using GuidingLight™, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Description of Service
GuidingLight™ is a platform that connects individuals seeking mental health and wellness services (“Seekers”) with qualified service providers (“Providers”). We facilitate connections but do not provide healthcare services directly.
3. User Accounts
Account Creation
- You must provide accurate and complete information
- You are responsible for maintaining account security
- You must be at least 18 years old or have parental consent
- One account per person/organization
Provider Requirements
Providers must:
- Hold valid licenses and credentials as required by Nevada law
- Maintain appropriate liability insurance
- Keep profile information accurate and up-to-date
- Comply with all applicable professional standards and regulations
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Harass, abuse, or harm others
- Submit false or misleading information
- Interfere with the operation of the service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Use automated systems to access the service without permission
5. Disclaimers
No Medical Advice
GuidingLight does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Information on our platform is for informational purposes only. Always seek the advice of qualified healthcare providers.
Provider Independence
Providers on our platform are independent professionals, not employees of The Beacon. We verify credentials but do not guarantee the quality of services provided.
No Guarantee of Availability
We cannot guarantee that you will find a provider with immediate availability or that any specific provider will be suitable for your needs.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
- Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly basis
- You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period
- Refunds are provided at our discretion
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice
7. Privacy
Your use of GuidingLight is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
8. Intellectual Property
GuidingLight and its content are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Beacon shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of GuidingLight.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Beacon and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada without regard to conflict of law principles.
